Low Sulfur IMO 2020 Regulation

To contribute to the fight for the environment, the International Maritime Office (IMO) requires that from 1st of January 2020, the Sulphur level for marine fuel used by all ships worldwide will decrease from 3.50 per cent to 0.50 per cent (in addition to 0.10% restriction in ECA zones).

Thus, the costs of marine fuel will increase, which will involve below additional charges:

• LSS IMO 2020 surcharge (quotations less or equal to 3 months) : applicable from 01/12/2019

• New BAF clause based VLSFO 0.50% (contracts above 3 months) : BAF will be updated from 01/01/2020
