CMA CGM Port of Montreal Union Strike – Update 1
- News Category GENERAL INFORMATION
Dear Valued Customer,
Following our previous customer advisory on the Port of Montreal Union Strike, we would like to provide an update on the ongoing negotiations between the Maritime Employers Association (MEA) and the Port of Montreal Longshore Union CUPE Local 375.
Yesterday, the MEA extended a final offer to the Longshoremen’s Union CUPE Local 375; however, this offer was declined. Details of the MEA’s response are available here.
In light of these developments, Montreal Gateway Terminal (MGT) has issued the following statement:
“MGT operations will be fully suspended for an indefinite period and this until a resolution to this impasse has been reached. This suspension of service, which takes immediate effect, extends to all truck and terminal activity, including rail and vessel operations.”
In light of these events, the vessels CMA CGM PARNAGUA and Mombasa Express, currently en route to the Port of Montreal, may be rerouted. The final decision on this routing change has not yet been confirmed, and a follow-up notification will be sent as soon as further details are available.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the above, please contact your local CMA CGM sales representative or Customer Care Department.
